A physical therapist with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is a skilled healthcare professional who helps people dealing with pain or disability to improve their quality of life.
They assess and diagnose physical issues and then create a personalized treatment plan to achieve individualized goals.
Lauren, specializes in adult and geriatric conditions, including orthopedic issues, neurological disorders, and generalized gait/balance deficits. Her expertise lies in the assessment of dysfunction within the neurological or musculoskeletal systems, which may alter normalized strength, flexibility, and range of motion.

Right now, ShoreRestore only works with Medicare Part B insurance plans and out-of-network pay. If you've got Medicare, no worries—I handle all the paperwork for you.
But if you don't have Medicare, you'll need to pay out of pocket for the services. Don't worry, though. If you want, I can give you a superbill. It's like a receipt with all the details. You can send that to your insurance and check if they’ll reimburse you. Just call your insurance and ask about your out-of-network benefits to see what your coverage is.

For out of pocket Physical Therapy the cost is:
$160 for Initial Evaluation
$135 for follow up sessions

Medicare Part B includes coverage for outpatient physical therapy services, and even though ShoreRestore operates in a home setting, it aligns with the outpatient physical therapy model. Once you've met your annual deductible, Medicare Part B takes care of 80% of the billed amount. If you have supplemental or secondary insurance, it might cover some or all of the remaining 20%. If it doesn't cover the entire amount, you'll receive a bill for the outstanding cost. This ensures transparency about potential financial responsibilities related to your healthcare services.

Health insurance can be costly, and dealing with its limitations can be frustrating. The current healthcare system sometimes struggles to provide timely and quality care. Insurance plans often have restrictions on the number of physical therapy visits, and some even require authorization that can limit your access to care.
Paying out of pocket for physical therapy services might seem like an additional expense, but it comes with advantages. It gives you and your physical therapist the freedom to continue with a care plan that best suits your needs and goals, without being confined by insurance constraints. This way, you're in control of your healthcare journey, ensuring the best possible outcomes for your well-being.

You don't need a doctor's referral to start physical therapy—thanks to a direct access law, you can jump into assessments and treatment right away. Physical therapists are skilled at looking out for any major concerns, called "red flags," that might require getting advice from a doctor.
Medicare requires an extra step. Per their guidelines, they want a doctor's signature on the first evaluation paperwork done by the therapist to make them aware of the plan of care. Your physical therapist will take care of this! You can choose your regular doctor or a specialist, whichever you feel is most involved in your care. Having your doctor know about your progress in physical therapy is a good thing. It means your physical therapist and doctor can work together to give you the best care possible!

No! Physical therapists are like detectives for your pain. When we evaluate you, we conduct tests that help us figure out the root cause of your pain. Sometimes MRI results don't tell the whole story. If we notice that your progress is slow or your symptoms are getting worse, we'll make sure to refer you to your doctor for a more in-depth assessment. It's all about making sure you get the right care for your specific situation.

This is a Medicare term. Healthcare providers, including ShoreRestore, adhere to Medicare guidelines to ensure the delivery of services deemed "medically necessary." Our responsibility as healthcare professionals involves gathering comprehensive information to assess the necessity of physical therapy services for you. This determination considers factors such as your diagnosis, ongoing progress, and anticipated outcomes. If necessary, this will be further discussed after your evaluation. This transparent communication ensures that you understand the reasoning behind the recommended course of action for your care.
